Let’s give a warm welcome to the newest member of the Islanders Army blogroll, Islanders Castaway. Andy, a displaced Long Islander recently emailed me about his 3 month old blog.
Andy has a good article about the new Islander jerseys we’ll be seeing this fall, including some mock ups by talented Islanders fans over at New York Islanders Country. These are the first Islander mock ups I’ve seen, I could live with these designs.

I mean no offense to those who designed them, but those jersey mock-ups look dreadful. I will be absolutely horrified if anything like those turns out to be what they actually wear. There’s no need for a new jersey design for the NYI. I would welcome a return to the old blue, over the darker blue, but past that, I pray they don’t do anything stupid. I’m worried though. There’s no reason why they can’t just replicate the existing look or the retro look on the new Reebok jersey. And pass on the laces at the collar. Completely pointless.
