Alexei Yashin wants more money than he’s being offered or he’s taking his puck (and Carol Alt) and going back home to Russia according to TSN.ca.

Alexei Yashin, according to his agent Mark Gandler, is not happy with the contract offers he has received from NHL teams.

”We are still talking to some teams. So far the offers we have received we are not happy with,” Gandler said in an interview with CKNW Radio in Vancouver. ”If we are not going to get what we are looking for, then he (Yashin) will definitely go to Russia.”

Gandler went on to say that he was looking to get near market value for Yashin and wouldn’t take a fraction of market value just because Yashin got a buyout from the New York Islanders.

We at Islanders Army have just one thing to say, “poka comrade“.

    1) Cute pictorial LOL We discussed this very topic yesterday morning: http://newfaux.blogspot.com/2007/07/7-11-news.html#links
    2) Our take on it is that Yashin will wine/complain(through his agent) but in the end will sign with a team that will give him the most money and least amount of pressure to perform
    3) We can NOT believe the Toronto rumors. Even the Montreal rumors can NOT be true. They just jettisoned their own Russian head ache in Samsonov. If and when Yashin lands we are hearing a SE division team is most likely.
    4) We can NOT foresee Yashin staying in Russia all year unless he goes alone. Would the rich and pampered Carol Alt (Are they married yet??) go to live in a 3rd world country? No!

Teams are taking in account the fact that WE are paying him upwards of 2M a year for the next ~5. They want him to as well, but of course, he isn’t.
