Bag of Pucks: Lost Weekend Edition

Thank god it’s Monday!! My men’s league team started the season off with a OT loss on Saturday, when we got outside after the game we found out the Isles lost 3-1 to Philly and then the Jets lost yesterday. Here’s some links.
- Greg Logan spoke with Chris Simon before Saturday night’s game about Simon’s return from his 25 game stick swinging suspension.
- Jon Sim is officially done for the season and will be going under ACL and MCL surgery in the next couple of weeks.
- Recap of the Isles 3-1 loss to Philadelphia.
- The only Islander-related person who had a good weekend was prospect Kyle Okposo as the Minnesota Golden Gophers kicked off their season on Friday night. Kyle had 3 points, including the game winning goal and was named #1 star of the game.
- Finally, here’s a link I’ve been sitting on too long. Ex-Islanders beat writer for the NY Post, Evan Grossman now works for the NHL. He spent Saturday night of opening weekend hanging out in the NHL’s “War Room” where all games are monitored by the NHL. He’s posted a bunch of behind the scenes videos of the War Room.
