Isles’ Fan Poll For Hire?

The Islanders sure do have some weird fan polls and results on the team Web site. This week, instead of a poll gauging how fans feel about the team’s playoff chances or trade deadline moves, we get this bizarre question:
Which type of radio do you listen to most often? Please vote only once.
A) XM B) Sirius C) FM/AM
Hopefully someone is paying for the advertising. Or maybe the NHL radio contract is coming up and the league is trying to decide who to sign with. I honestly have no idea and welcome your thoughts. For the record, the results currently stand at 19.3% for XM, 23.2% for Sirius, and 57.4% for FM/AM. Amazingly, there have been 1,504 responses.
Here’s another question, who are the 1,504 people who felt compelled to answer this inane question? And I realize this all might sound stupid coming from a guy who decided this was worth writing about but stupidity never stopped me before.

Sweet! I voted for the NYI Ice Girls this morning.
And I voted for XM at NYI.com since I get it for free with DirecTV.

The NHL still has 7 years left on a 10-year deal they signed in 2005. For a couple of years they were on both Sirius and XM, but now XM has an exclusive on broadcasting league games. Sirius still has hockey shows though. Plus, if the merger will ever comes…
