I know I'm in the minority here, but I'm not going to lie. I'm actually pretty bummed to see Vasicek go.

1) BTW read with interest that the Isles "significant offer" was a 2 year deal that was a "two-way" contract. Meaning that if Doobie didn't make the team he goes to Bridgeport and gets about 10% of what he'd make in the NHL.
2) It was an offer designed to be turned down (sound familiar? Its what Buffalo did to Nolan a decade ago. they gave him a ridiculous 1 year contract offer that they knew he'd refuse. they couldn't fire him, he was beloved by so many so they wedged him out this way. Ditto to Doobie
3) As for Nolan interesting, but not surprising that he has a different take on Doobie coming into camp out of shape and the team not having confidence. Nolan says he was coming off an injury which caused him to be in less than top shape in September, but he never lost confidence in his back up.
4) Anyone still believe that Snow and Nolan aren't having issue or that Nolan's days with the isles are numbered? The writing on the wall gets bigger each passing day.

1) Agreed that these moves, even the Doobie move, was no surprise. The hand writing was on the wall for Wade. (Didn't he hook up with a Euro team already?)
2) Josef and Satan weren't going to add much other than payroll. We like Feds, but if he wants 3 or so mil to stay, its probably why he's going too.
3) The real question is what will Snow/Wang do to fill out their payroll? The salary cap floor will be in the 38-39 mil region. With few big names UFA's and the team payroll right now for next season holding at about 30 mil for 14 players, they are compelled to add payroll somewhere just to get to the 'floor' let alone the ceiling which will probably be about 56-57 mil
