In other action last night…
- The Flyers got shellacked again, losing 8-2 to the Penguins. Sydney Crosby picked up his first career hat-trick.
- Atlanta denied Buffalo’s bid for their 11th straight win to start the season. Slava Kozlov scored the only goal of the shootout for the win. Atlanta appears to be the real deal this year 8-1-3, and just 2 points behind Buffalo in the standings.
- Martin Broudeur pitched his 2nd straight shutout and #83 of his career as the Devils beat Columbus 1-0.
- Zdeno Chara burned his old team the Ottawa Senators with the game winning goal with just 4:25 remaining in the game.
- Tomas Kaberle had 4 goals, a hat-trick and a shootout goal, as Toronto beat the Canadiens 5-4 in a shootout.
