DP Back Tonight?

October 19th, 2006 by murph

He’s on the roster as the Islanders are set to host the Pittsburgh Penguins (2-3-0) tonight. Last night, Pittsburgh’s Evgeni Malkin played in his first NHL game, recording his first career goal in the second period as the Penguins lost to the New Jersey Devils 2-1. The victory was number 450 for Devils’ goalie Martin Brodeur.

DP Still Can’t Go

Islanders vs Nashville (1-3) tonight at 7:30p. Newsday.com is reporting Rick DiPietro is still day to day with a “minor groin pull”. Mike Dunham gets his third straight start.

NYI Goalie Stats:

Goaltending	GP GS MIN W L GA GAA SA SV SV%
 Mike Dunham 3 2 144 2 0 5 2.08 94 89 .947
 Rick DiPietro 3 3 159 0 3 12 4.54 99 87 .879

Also tonight, Marty Brodeur of the Devils goes for career win number 450 at the Rangers tonight. Should be a good game to watch, and it should be available in HDTV too. I’ll watch any hockey, including the Rangers in HDTV. Isles are delegated to FSNY2, so tune in early because it will take 10 minutes to find that station in the guide.
